Features & Benefits

  • Full Bumper Replacement: Removes the plastic factory bumper and foam absorber entirely. 3mm steel plate structure gives you front-end protection the OEM part cannot.
  • Slimline King-Style Profile: Tight-to-body design with no protruding loop work. Keeps the Shark 6's modern face and preserves approach angle while adding real strength.
  • Integrated LED Lighting: Two recessed LED light pods in the outer wings, supplied with a plug-in wiring harness. Auxiliary forward lighting for tracks, fog and dusk driving.
  • Winch Ready: Built-in low-mount fairlead plate in the centre section accepts winches up to 12,000 lb. Direct access to the winch clutch lever.
  • Rated Recovery Points: Two bolt-through recovery points on the lower bar for snatch strap and shackle use. Red powder coat for fast identification in a recovery.
  • Factory Sensor Compatible: Retains the Shark 6's front parking sensor apertures. Grille radar and camera remain in their factory positions.
  • Light Bar Provisions: Flat top face with pre-drilled mounting points for a light bar or a pair of driving lights.
  • Matte Black Powder Coat: Durable, UV-stable finish that hides scratches and matches the Shark 6's factory black wheel arches, mirrors and roof rails.
  • Complete Kit: Bar, LED pods, harness, fairlead plate, recovery points, vehicle-specific brackets and all fasteners in one crate.

Installation Guide

Total time
3-5 hours with two people or a bumper lift. Professional fitment strongly recommended.
Drilling required
No chassis drilling. The bar mounts through vehicle-specific brackets to the Shark 6's factory bumper mounting points. Light harness connects via supplied connectors - no cutting of factory wiring.
Warranty
Caution - this is a full bumper replacement. It is not ADR-certified or airbag-tested; Factory sensors are retained. Consult your BYD dealer regarding warranty on front-end components.
  1. Disconnect the 12V battery negative terminal. Do not work on the high-voltage system; this job only involves the 12V lighting circuit and bumper fasteners.
  2. Remove the factory front bumper: wheel arch liner screws, lower splash guard bolts, upper grille clips, then the side bumper clips at each fender. Unplug the factory parking sensor connectors and fog/DRL connectors before pulling the bumper clear. Note which connector goes where.
  3. Remove the factory foam absorber and plastic bumper reinforcement to expose the chassis bumper mounts.
  4. Transfer the factory parking sensors from the old bumper into the matching apertures on the new bar. Route their leads back to the factory connectors.
  5. Fit the vehicle-specific mounting brackets to the chassis bumper mounts using the supplied hardware. Leave bolts snug, not tight.
  6. With two people or a bumper lift, position the bar onto the brackets. Start all bolts by hand before tightening any.
  7. Align: check equal gap to each headlight, equal gap to each fender edge, and that the top face sits parallel to the bonnet shut line. Torque all mounting bolts to the spec in the guide once alignment is correct.
  8. Connect the LED light pod harness to the factory fog/DRL connectors using the supplied adaptors. Route the harness away from heat and moving parts, and cable-tie it every 200 mm.
  9. Fit the recovery points through the lower bar into the brackets. These must be bolted through to the bracket structure - never to the bar face alone.
  10. Fit the number plate, refit the wheel arch liners and lower splash guard.
  11. Reconnect the battery. Turn on ignition, check the parking sensors show no fault on the dash, then test DRL, fog and indicator functions on both sides.
  12. After 100 km of driving, re-check all bolts for torque.
